With the football season in full swing (3-0 Lehigh Men's Football what what), the greatest time of the year commences. No, it's not Lelaf, it's Morning Cocktail season! (Mocos for short). I'm pretty sure it's every Lehigh students' favorite time. While every other schools have normal football tailgates, wearing your school's colors and apparel, we at Lehigh have started a very different trend that sets us apart. Instead of wearing our good ol' brown and white, we don the wackiest, silliest, brightest, and most colorful outfits and support our school's football team. However, this only happens on Saturday morning home games. Honestly, I cannot even describe the outfits people wear at tailgates because there really isn't a standard to which people abide by except to look your craziest. To keep it brief, I'll let the pictures describe what words cannot.
You can literally where anything on Saturday mornings and no one will judge you. Whether it be neon tutus, mickey mouse ears, patterned leggings, furry hoods, old denim overalls, hawaiian shirts, etc, (you get the idea), you will have a great time just looking your silliest. You can get any of these items at basically any store. Most Lehigh students go to their local Salvation Army or thrift store to find apparel. Other popular locations include American Apparel and Halloween stores like Party City. Still don't know how tap into your weirdest side? No problem! Just take it from these seasoned veterans:
Most females tend to go the tutu route and neon leggings whereas most guys wear the hawaiian shirts, caps, patterned everything so it all clashes, even full on chicken costumes. The possibilities are limitless. However, don't wear normal clothes, you'll ruin the whole point! So for those who haven't visited Lehigh and plan to visit a Saturday home game, I definitely recommend hitting up the thrift shop first! I guess this is why Business Insider named us #12 Most Fun School in the US, right?
Ps. Special shout-out to Class of 2016's very own Griffin Lipson for the awesome shots in the first slideshow!
